27/01/2023 - 19:15h Canary Islands. - DEEP AND MODERATE VOLCANIC SWARM IN THE AREA OF THE VOLCANO IMMEDIATELY. - Today at around noon a remarkable and deep seismic activity has started in the area between Tenerife and Gran Canaria, known as the Enmedio volcano and which indicates a typically volcanic process, but we're going for the beginning.

A few days ago we had a typically tectonic Earthquake just below that volcano, at a depth of 23 km and that was slightly felt in some areas of Tenerife by the Population. At first it seems like nothing, but it’s possible that something broke with this event, starting something.

At around noon today seismic activity has started strong, around magnitude 2, to gradually rise to 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 and finally 2.6... clearly indicating a process of pressurization and movement of magma, which has begun at about 35km... to go taking a depth around 40 km where the most active phase of the present swarm has developed.

So far about 40 Events of the hundreds you see on the spectrum have been located, I guess a few more will appear as you go through the Events. Around 16:04 UTC it has ended. We'll see if around this midnight or tomorrow around noon it resumes, with another seismic swarm in the same area when we go through maximum gravitational pull again, which usually acts as a detonator of these Events.

At first it can be thought that the Earthquake of the other day, has been one of breaking, which has allowed the magma to open its way into the surface, where it has not arrived at the moment, causing a deep pressurization or depressurization that begins to bear fruit in the form of seismicity and which should in turn generate a more somera seismicity in the same area, which could make us think of something interesting in the coming weeks or months, so we will have to be very careful of the matter, although an eruption at such a depth is not known as notary public.
At the moment there is no magma tremor on the sensors, and if there were, it would be noticed in the sensors of almost the entire archipelago, so thinking of an ongoing eruption becomes very difficult for me, although I can not rule out, given the depth and pressure to the that volcano is more than 2500 meters deep. Reminder that we have had other swarms, the latest one small and deep last September 15, 2022, so that from time to time occur, although towards relatively time it did not move much, similar to another seismic swarm notable in the same area and also the October 7, 2018 I commented on post 146.

We'll see what happens, but it's another event that reminds us that we are on active volcanic islands and that these are formed by volcanic eruptions that generate what we have today. What amazes me most is the inaction of politicians. We live in volcanic islands. And they are unable to do evacuation drills. What are they waiting for? Make it a Sunday like in La Palma? 4. - Cauldron of Tenerife. Deep activity in the cavalry at 25 km, which does not promise anything good, but more activity and possibility of having a more powerful seismic swarm in the coming days or weeks with hundreds of Events, indicating that it is about to occur an intrusion into the magmatic chamber located 11-15 km under the Caldera. 5. - LA PALMA ISLAND AREA. - A few days ago we had a small swarm in the eruption zone, with relatively someric seismicity and micro-sismicity, and also 9-10 km indicating a cooling of the more shallow area, which keeps indicating that the system is still standing still. Accumulated seismic energy released also reflects it like this, losing incline and becoming increasingly horizontal (indicating that the volcanic system is shutting down).

The truth is that the pieces are still moving towards an ongoing process of reactivating the island of Tenerife, and we do not know when it will stop or worse yet accelerate with a new swarm or worse, active it certainly is. The 120° shape indicating push ups from the bottom is repeated every month. Energy has a slope that does not loosen, rather be steep, moving away from the horizontal (indicating that the volcanic system is reactivating).
Although the deformation does not indicate anything, the truth is that stations TN-05 and TN-08 do not vary, (previously they rose, but changed the data or reference station) and the rest of the island's stations tend to go down, sink, (when they used to be maintained).

This leaves us with a possible explanation for the data issue that is white and bottled.. - it will not be inflated the center of the island by the magma slowly accumulates in depth beneath it, explaining the seismicity and the shape of 120° that repeats month by month - ... I'll leave this right there. Curves are coming and before the end of the year we'll have novelties like swarms or more, that's very clear.
