Wanted -Car dashcam

Hi, does anyone know of a shop on Fuerteventura that sells dashcams please. Don’t mind travelling to the south if necessary.
Thanks in advance.

Hi George, as far as I know you cannot buy dashcams on the island, reason unknown. I bought this one on Amazon and it works superbly.

I have been wondering whether to get one.

But I think one problem is that continuous recording seems not to be allowed. I know they are hot on data protection in Spain.

But sources vary...Source - https://sgmlegalspain.com/dashcams-you-a...-in-spain/
says -

'Dash cams should be set to record only when triggered by specific sensors. This limitation helps avoid unlawful surveillance of public spaces'.
Another one says "No Continuous Public Space Recording: Your dash cam must only activate during incidents (e.g., collisions or sudden braking). Spain prohibits general surveillance of public areas without cause."

But CAB Spain says -

"To be clear, it's not a traffic offence as according to Traffic Law they are legal to use as long as they do not obstruct the driver´s view of the road, but it could be an offence under the data protection act, and if the camera makes unauthorised recordings of Police officers, while on the job, that could endanger their own or a family member´s safety or the installations they are protecting or put the success of an operation at risk"

Thanks Bill, I understand the legalities and always have. I have the dashcam on my car and my motorbike only for incidents that would involve myself and other road users to be used in evidence in an incident, I only it never happens. In the 7 years living here Ive had numerous near misses involving both my bike and car, all of which were not my fault.

Thanks for all of your comments …. I have a dashcam in my car which records all of the time the engine is running, the only time I turn it off is when there are Guardia stopping vehicles at a road stop, as far as I know, it is illegal to film them. The reason I am looking for a new one is because mine is really old now !!
Did a road trip a few years a few years ago, Spain,France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Czech and Italy …..it is quite surprising which countries ban them and also, in some countries, you can only film in certain places. Luckily, I was not stopped anywhere.
I looked at Amazon, but they don’t  deliver here. Maybe I have to wait for my next trip to the UK.
