#1
February 1st 2021

Well yesterday was a nice sunny day a bit hazy and the wind certainly felt stronger than forecast.

This morning at 7.40am 16C but feeling much colder in the strong wind, clear sky, some condensation on the car.

Today's Caleta forecast -

A sunny morning and early afternoon, cloud increasing from 3pm to give 25% cloud cover by 6pm, shade temperature to get up to 22C for a couple of hours from 1pm and the UV factor will reach 4 / 5 from 11am through to 2pm, air quality FAIR.

Wind from the N this morning at 28 to 32Kmph with gusts up to 37Kmph, moving to come from the NE by 2pm for the rest of the afternoon and early evening easing slightly at 24 to 26Kmph with gusts up to 35Kmph, so a fairly windy day.

Thanks John, we are all fine. Just slept really well, and much longer than usual. Now just waiting for a jab and the lifting of travel restrictions, allowing us to reunite with our friends in the sunshine.

Courtesy of Radio Sintonia:

Declared the pre-alert situation in the Canary Islands due to rains and storms

The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies has declared the pre-alert situation in the Canary Islands due to rains and storms for tomorrow Thursday, February 4, from 12 noon.

Based on observations, there will be precipitation in the form of light or moderate showers, with probable heavy point showers and / or storms in the afternoon and at night. Locally, accumulated water equal to or greater than 15mm (liters) in one hour are likely.
On the other hand, in Meteorology, storm prediction refers only to atmospheric electrical activity (lightning, lightning and thunder). However, storms are expected around the Archipelago, of strong intensity, which in addition to electrical activity will leave locally strong rainfall and / or locally strong winds and / or hail of less than 2cm.

Over slept this morning and had a lay in, yesterday very much as forecast, I felt the wind was calmer than forecast.

This morning at 9am 16C a fair amount of cloud, but the sun was reflecting nicely on the sea, and only a light breeze, the calm before the storm.

Today's Caleta forecast -

A mix of cloud, rain and sun, a Yellow Storm Warning is in place from 6pm today until midnight Friday / Saturday for heavy rain and thunder storms.  Shade temperature today to get up to only 19C from midday for a couple of hours with the UV factor reaching only 3 this morning, air quality is Fair.

Wind from the WSW this morning / lunchtime at 13 to 24Kmph moving to come from the WNW by 2pm  strength increasing slightly at 26 to 28Kmph with gusts up to 30Kmph.
