Wildlife on Fuerteventura
I think it is a Fischer's Lovebird.  They are not native but there were a lot of them around Playa Blanca a few years ago.  This one woke us up squawking early this morning.

I'll tell you something, a few weeks ago I went to view a property in an area close to Antigua where we found a big cage full of these parrots, without exaggeration at least twenty if not more; I wondered how the neighbours could cope with the squawking noises. We also saw one of them walking outside, therefore it's very likely that from time to time some of them may escape. A bit irresponsible, I think.

Found a Potter Wasp nest in my garage yesterday. It had to come down because I couldn't stand the thought of caterpillars above my head  Big Grin

If I find one outside but not on the house I leave it be cos the wasp rounds up caterpillars from the garden to feed its young on! Luckily I've never found a Monarch caterpillar in one of the nests!

A small flock of European Bee-eaters visited the next door garden today. They were gorgeous but very difficult to get a pic that showed the colours.

Not exactly wildlife, but I had a visit in Tindaya today from a cockatiel (Ninfa in Spanish).
