Windsurfer killed after drowning in Jandía.
At 16.42 hours this afternoon there was the fatal outcome of the death of a 42-year-old athlete when he practiced windsurfing on the beach of La Solana in the municipality of Pájara.
At the time indicated above, the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert communicating that a windsurfer was in trouble about 200 meters from the coast.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
The GES helicopter rescued the affected person in cardiorespiratory arrest and transferred him to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura where the health team confirmed his death.
Police services take charge of the corresponding proceedings.
