The Civil Guard arrested four people for stealing in several establishments in Fuerteventura.
In a statement issued by the General Directorateof the Civil Guard it is reported that the Civil Guard of the Main Post of theMain Post of Morro Jable in Fuerteventura within the framework of Operation Cartone, arrested last February four people aged between 24 and 26 years of age with Police records, for seven crimes of robbery with force, by stealing boxes of tobacco, safes and electronic devices, in different beach bars, in a supermarket, in a real estate and in the home of the owner of the real estate, causing serious damage and damage in the establishments and amounting to the value of the damages caused to 4,000 euros, all the Events occurred between the months of July 2022 and the beginning of February 2023 in Costa Calma.
Knowledge of the facts
The Civil Guard was aware of the Events that occurred as a result of a wave of complaints received at the Main Post of Morro Jable, stating the complainants that they had suffered robberies in their establishments, forcing access and causing them serious damage, coinciding all the complaints that the modus operandi used by the alleged perpetrators was the same. In addition, the victims stated that they stole various material from inside the establishments, electronic devices, safes, tobacco boxes, all valued at 14,800 euros.
Initiation and development of research
The Civil Guard carried out the appropriate Police investigations and the various steps for the clarification of the facts, since the crimes were carried out in different places and with the same modus operandi, creating social alarm in the area. As a result of the data collected, operational surveillance devices and viewings of the security cameras of some establishments were carried out.
For this reason, on February 4, two men were arrested red-handed at the time they were robbing the businessman's home, intervening the authors with a detonating gun, three sets of house keys and the keys to a high-end vehicle of the owner of the house, which was allegedly going to be stolen at that same moment.
In the investigations carried out it was possible to reach the conclusion that the authors wanted to steal several safes owned by the businessman since they stole a safe in the real estate, which contained 40 keys to safes from other homes.
Also, one of the detainees was related to two other robberies in a supermarket chain, since he had stolen tobacco cartons worth approximately 7,600. It should be noted that he was arrested for being involved in two other robberies related to two beach bars on the beach of Costa Calma, being able to recover part of the stolen electronic effects.
The detainees, together with the proceedings taken for this purpose, were placed at the disposal of the Guard Court of Puerto del Rosario.
