On the morning of this Saturday, May 24, two relevant interventions were recorded in the town of Corralejo, in the municipality of La Oliva (Fuerteventura), which required the action of the Local Police and other emergency services, and which resulted in two people being arrested.
The first incident took place at 07:15 am, when 112 alerted of a fight between several young people on the central Avenida Nuestra Señora del Carmen. The event left one injured with a reserved prognosis for assault with a knife. The alleged perpetrator was located and arrested a few minutes later on a nearby street.
The second episode occurred at noon, also in Corralejo. A man started a fire in his own home and barricaded himself inside. He then climbed to the roof of the building, from where he threatened to take his own life.
After a joint intervention by the Local Police, Civil Guard and Firefighters of La Oliva, the individual was persuaded to leave the property, although he entered another house, where he was finally arrested.
During this operation, an agent of the Local Police of La Oliva was wounded in the left arm by a knife, according to the Police force.
The deputy chief inspector of the Local Police of La Oliva expressed his gratitude to all the emergency services involved and valued the effort of the staff in resolving both incidents.
