The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, following the new indicators included in the COVID-19 Surveillance and Control Strategy, agreed by the Ministry of Health with the autonomous communities, reports that since the last update of data last Friday, 1,393 new positives in COVID-19 have been registered in the archipelago among people over 60 years old, which is the population group that is monitored after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.

 
Therefore, the cumulative number of Coronavirus cases among this group amounts to 89,020 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 1,541.45 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days in the
 
651.91. Since July 8, there has been a sustained decrease in the cumulative incidence to 7 days, when we reached 913 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
 
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 515 people admitted with Coronavirus, of which 29 are in ICU and the rest, 486, in plant. On the other hand, in the last four days there have been 12 deaths, six reported in Tenerife, three in Gran Canaria, two in La Palma and one in Fuerteventura. All the people, aged between 74 and 102, had previous pathologies and were in hospital admission.

The Ministry of Health in the update of data on COVID-19 published this Friday, July 22, points out that in the last three days there have been 19 deaths in the Canary Islands, thirteen reported in Gran Canaria, five in Tenerife and one in Fuerteventura. All the people, aged between 65 and 97, had previous pathologies and were in hospital admission. In the Archipelago there are 450 people admitted with Coronavirus, of which 29 are in ICU and the rest, 421, in plant.

 

Health recalls that following the new indicators included in the COVID-19 Surveillance and Control Strategy, agreed by the Ministry of Health with the autonomous communities, it reports that since the last update of data last Tuesday, 1,336 new positives in COVID-19 have been registered in the archipelago among people over 60 years old, which is the population group that is monitored after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.
Therefore, the cumulative number of Coronavirus cases among this group amounts to 90,356 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 1,336.73 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 545.92. Since July 8, there has been a sustained decrease in the cumulative incidence to 7 days, when we reached 913 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Therefore, the cumulative number of Coronavirus cases among this group amounts to 91,282 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 1,108.19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 452.64. Since July 8, there has been a sustained decrease in the cumulative incidence to 7 days, when we reached 913 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

 
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 460 people admitted with Coronavirus, of which 27 are in icu and the rest, 433, in plant.
