Noticias:
95 flights, on the strongest Saturday of the year, at El Matorral Airport.
This Saturday the airport of Fuerteventura has received 95 flights, 30 from the rest of the archipelago, 11 from the rest of the Spanish state and 54 from different European cities, demonstrating that the health of the air operation is recovering on the island despite the situation with COVID or the War of Ukraine. As usual the Germans are the ones who fly the most to the island, followed closely by the British, and then French and Italians.
The increase in prices does not seem to make a dent in the majorero destination although some unforeseen situations with the staff and the operation of the destination airports make it still fearful for the "last minute" tickets.
The price of air tickets in Spain has increased by 45% for the month of July and 40% in the rest of the continent, due to the increase in fuel, inflation and higher demand, however, Kiwi.com is registering more reservations than last year.
At the moment in Europe, the reservation of tickets for the month of July has doubled and Spain is the second most demanded country, behind Italy and ahead of Greece, the United Kingdom and France.
So far, neither the high prices nor the chaotic management of air transport have discouraged our customers, as the recent report of the aforementioned Exceltur points out. The so-called "champagne effect" after two years without being able to leave, with the corresponding increase in savings, seems to guarantee a good summer.
Inflation worries
According to the INE, in Spain, inflation stood at 10.2% in June, largely due to the increase in the price of air tickets and accommodation and catering services.
The transport, lodging and catering companies transfer to the customer the significant increases in the different types of fuel in the first case and in food products and electricity in the second.
