Yes, agree.
We have the same problem with Banca March. Closed the branch we used and then charged for ATM withdrawals, so we had to travel to Caleta.
Try
Starling for free withdrawals in Caleta. And easy, cheap instant currency exchange.
Good luck.

Me included, we only have one smartphone. Unfortunately, economy and society seem to be based on these gadgets nowadays

So at present we have BBVA in one name and another internet
banking account in another name and we move
Money around. It works for us, we see what happens in the near future, perhaps we human things will invent something else which will become "necessary" for our daily lives.

Morning can you tell me what the situation is regarding ATM,s? according to their website they have one in Gran Tarajal and another in Antigua can you use another banks dispensers?
Sorry, only just seen this.
We don't use ATM's much.
BBVA have branches in Morro Jable, Gran Tarajal, PDR and Corralejo.
In the past we have used the ATMs in GT and PDR mostly, especially when we are going to those places for something else.
We have occasionally used the ATM in Antigua, but it does incur a small charge - but it worked out cheaper than the fuel to get to GT. We have never used any other ATMs.

Update on BBVA switch:
As suspected, Banca March refused the transfer as "a/c names don't match" ie. Single name a/c vs Joint names.
So started the DD transfer process manually, via the app. Just copy and download all your DD's. Sounds easy
@Tricky, @Tom how do you both 'feed' your account from the UK without charges? I'm trying
Starling. Is this a good idea?
Thanks, all for this useful thread.

Transferwise, now known as Wise. Shopped around endlessly but I always end up back with Wise. Best rates and incredible speed. I'm logged into UK bank to transfer cash to Wise and before I can log into Sabadell, I've had an email saying it is already there.
Tom.

Thanks, Tom. I also use Wise sometimes. Hadn't thought that may work out cheaper.
Does BBVA charge you for the pleasure of receiving your own
Money?! They get you one way or the other.
Cheers

My pension is paid directly in to our BBVA account without charges. I also use Wise to top up at times, again never been charged.

I can see nothing in the t&c's about charges for receipts.

We have been with BBVA since May 17th 2017 and have never had a charge.

Not a good start. BBVA charged me 21€ for my first payment of 100€ into the account! Unbelieveable.
The payment was in euros ... so they had nothing to do except post the balance on the account - 21% seems very steep for an account that advertises everything is 'without charge'.
Later I tried a Wise transfer, as Tricky said. No charge there. Thanks
