The alleged perpetrator of an attempted homicide was intercepted while trying to flee to Fuerteventura.
The Civil Guard of Lanzarote in collaboration with the Local Police of Yaiza arrested a 29-year-old person on December 29, 2023 as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of attempted homicide, after stabbing the victim several times in the municipality of Tías, when he tried to flee to Fuerteventura.
The perpetrator was located thanks to the actions of a civil guard who was off duty at the dock waiting to board for the same destination.
The agent located the perpetrator in the vicinity, in an elusive and nervous attitude and trying to hide at all times, so, in order to prevent his escape, he ensured his location, following him and requesting urgent support from a uniformed patrol to proceed with his arrest, both at origin and destination at the Corralejo dock due to the haste. as he had managed to board one of the ferries that were imminently departing.
Finally, and thanks to the support of a patrol of the Local Police of Yaiza, who was alerted by the Civil Guard due to its proximity, the arrest of this person was achieved, making him disembark and transferring him to official offices for the instruction of the corresponding proceedings, thus preventing his escape from Lanzarote.

The perpetrator had been wanted since December 27, 2023, since after a heated argument with the person he lived with, he stabbed him several times in the chest and abdomen with a kitchen knife, the author quickly fled the scene and a family member was left with the victim present at the argument who alerted the emergency services.
The victim was taken to the hospital in Arrecife, where he underwent emergency surgery due to the severity of the injuries suffered, and was subsequently admitted to the ICU of the hospital.
Once the victim had been evacuated, the appropriate measures were taken to seal the scene of the Events and the Civil Guard immediately began the search for the perpetrator, whose whereabouts were unknown until 29 December, when he intended to flee the island of Lanzarote to Fuerteventura by sea from the Port of Playa Blanca. being identified by the Guardia Civil on duty.
In addition, that person was aware of a judicial requisition for an alleged offence of fraud, of which he was informed by the competent judicial authority.
Finally, the detainee, together with the proceedings instructed, were placed at the judicial disposal of the Court of Guard of Arrecife, and subsequently entered provisional detention.
