Radio Sintonia:
Health incorporates a specialist technician in Radiodiagnosis for Emergencies of the Health Center of Puerto del Rosario II.
The Health Area of Fuerteventura, attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, reinforces the Radiodiagnosis service of the Emergency Service of the Health Center of Puerto del Rosario II with the incorporation of a specialist technician in this matter, with which conventional radiological studies will be carried out on weekends and holidays in said health center if the diagnostic process so requires, being the last Basic Health Zone of Fuerteventura to incorporate this service on weekends.
A way to avoid referral to the Universities of the General Hospital of Fuerteventura
In this way, the resolution capacity of those urgent or non-delayable processes that, otherwise, would have to be referred to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura to be able to conclude with the diagnostic process is enhanced. In this way, the influx of patients to the hospital emergencies of the island is reduced.
The extension of this service, which will have a schedule from 08:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, is carried out with the hiring of a technician specialized in Radiodiagnosis, thus complying with the guidelines set by the Canary Islands Health Emergency Plan (PLUSCAN) to provide the Continuous Care Points with greater operability.
Extension of hours and resources
With this extension of hours and human resources, the Emergency Service of the Health Center of Puerto del Rosario II will increase the resolution capacity of this type of diagnostic tests throughout the Basic Health Zone of Puerto del Rosario, since it will serve the population assigned to the two health centers in this area.
Between
January and
February of this year, a total of 7,278 consultations have been carried out in the Emergency Department of the General Hospital of Fuerteventura, which is 9.58% more than in the same period of the previous year, which represents an average of 123.36 consultations per day.
On the other hand, in the Basic Zone of Puerto del Rosario, only in the month of
February, 3,810 urgent medical consultations and 3,165 nursing consultations were registered, of which 151 had to be referred to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura to complete the diagnostic or therapeutic process.
Improvement of services
The director of the Health Area of Fuerteventura, Sandra Celis, assures that "with this expansion the capacity of health professionals to resolve processes increases, thus improving the quality of care of users who require attention".
For his part, the manager of Health Services, José Luis Rodríguez, shows his satisfaction since "providing the tools to our professionals is essential because we improve the services we offer to our patients and, at the same time, alleviate the care burden on professionals".
