Judging by previous years, then the dates won't be published until late Jan/Feb.

What are the dates for the Corralejo Carnival 2020? I'm coming from Ireland to celebrate and would love to know when it's on.

The winner of the theme for the 2020 Carnival was Professions with 40.7%.

Unusually, the dates for the Carnival have also been announced early, as the 5 - 15 March 2020.

The Carnival of La Oliva is celebrated between February 28 and March 21, with Day and Night Street Carnival and "The professions" as allegory

The City Council presented the poster design and outstanding Events such as the Adult Queen Gala (March 6), the Day and Night Carnival (March 7), the Drag Queen Gala (March 9) or the Coso Carnavalero (14 of March). This year there will be a holiday on Carnival Tuesday, March 10.

The Carnival of Carnivals in the municipality of La Oliva will be held from February 28 to March 21, 2020 with "The Professions" as allegory. The mayor and several councillors participating in the scheduled Events met today to present the poster design and the main Events of the program:

Friday, March 6 | Adult Queen's Gala
Saturday March 7 | Day and Night street Carnival
Sunday March 8 | Children's Queen Gala
Monday, March 9 | Drag Queen Gala
Tuesday March 10 | Festive in the municipality
Saturday March 14 | Coso Carnavalero
Sunday March 15 | Burial of La Sardina

The northern Carnival will begin on Thursday, February 28 with the presentation in Corralejo de la Murga Las Sargoriás, which celebrates its 15th anniversary, and will end on March 21 in La Oliva, with the traditional Day Carnival at the Raíz del Pueblo Cultural Center. In between, it is worth noting the Dance Gala on Thursday, March 12, the Carnival of the Elderly on Wednesday 11, and the Children's Party on Carnival Tuesday, March 10.

As main novelties, the councillor of Festejos, Omaira Saavedra, advanced, "this year the Carnival of Day will continue to grow, and we will have both day and night programming in the street, for a very special party." It is also noteworthy that there will be Carnival Tuesdays, "with a holiday on March 10, when this year's Sunday day coincides with La Candelaria." In this way, Monday 9th will be the Drag Queen Gala, and that night there will also be a festival.

The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, thanked the work of the Department of Festivities that coordinates the program, and the rest of the areas involved, Oliver González for Works and Service in assembly and logistics tasks, Rafael Benítez with drug dependence prevention actions and violence from Social Welfare, or Marcelino Umpiérrez from Tourism, with the sponsorship of the Drag Queen Gala and promoting the Carnival, in addition to the special device that is enabled in these parties from the Cleaning services.

The mayor sent a message of "special thanks to the Carnival groups, because without them this Carnival would not be possible." Soon, the City Council of La Oliva will present the poster with all the scheduled Events.
