The Castle will have 2,379 square meters of large public square and a new commercial building.
In addition, the approved PMT contemplates 1,300 m2 for a new commercial building in the same locality
The II Tourism Modernization Plan promoted by the City Council of Antigua and definitively approved in July 2022 by the Government of the Canary Islands, allows the unblocking of the use and enjoyment of the plot of 3,665 square meters, called Q in the urban plans, located in a central area in Caleta de Fuste.
The city council affirms that "the final approval that we achieved of the II Plan for the Tourist Modernization of Caleta de Fuste, resolving the City of Antigua, files, procedures and irregular situations accumulated since 1976" and points out the mayor Matías Peña García that "establishes the legal framework to allow today the use and enjoyment of a main plot in the center of the tourist town".
The municipal councillor announced the resolution at the Governing Board held this Thursday, January 4 in the morning, congratulating once again the work carried out by the Secretariat, the municipal legal services and the Technical Office, highlighting their diligence in approving the tender for the use of the plot since the company that owns it delivered the required documentation on December 26.
Of the total area, a part will be destined to a commercial building and 2,379 square meters are ceded to the City of Antigua, explains the Councilor for Urban Planning, David Alberto Guerra, working on a uniform and pedestrian project with a wide and open public square, next to an area intended to provide municipal services, necessary for the residents of Caleta de Fuste.
