Another question for Captain Sensible, I'd suggest.
I've just been looking at fixtures for the weekend after next and it appears that Union Puerto have now changed to Saturday 17.00 for their game against Villa Sta Brigida. Is that your understanding as well ?
Not a disaster as it would mean I could double that up with the noon game further south at Las Playitas and free up the Sunday morning for El Cotillo.
However, I guess there's a chance that there could yet be further changes to that schedule ?
All info greatly appreciated.

You are correct. I've just checked on 2 sites and they are showing it as a 5pm KO on the Saturday 4th.
Las Playitas v Arguinguin is a midday KO on the same day, and the local derby - Cotillo v Herbania at midday on the 5th.

Many thanks for that. I assume you'll be attending some of the games mentioned ? If so, it would be good to meet you.

After living in Fuerteventura for 19 years, I moved back to the UK. I did attend lots of matches when I lived there.

The Cotillo v Herbania match is now on Saturday at 5pm, so it now clashes with the Puerto game.

Many thanks for your reply. All I can say is bugger!

I'm tempted to miss out the Union Puerto game and go straight from Las Playitas to Cotillo which might be a spicier game even though it's a lower level. I was hoping that was a typo when I saw the change on the futbolaspalmas.com website, sadly not.
I'll probably now attend the Friday night game at Villaverde as we're staying in Corralejo just down the road with Sunday spent in a matchless El Cotillo where I'd booked a horse riding outing for my daughter to coincide with the game  Confused

Is Estadio Los Pozos worth the effort (higher standard, granted) or is El Cotillo the place to be for a 17.00 Saturday game ?

I'll trust your judgment given your extensive local experience.

Cheers,

Paddy

I'm not sure what to suggest!  It depends on your exact travel plans/timing.

Enjoy whatever matches you go to.

The island derby is the better option IMO.

In terms of standard Herbania are definitely on a par with UP and were unlucky to get relegated last year. Cotillo are a bit weaker. The table does not lie...

I will be cheering on Cotillo but expect quite a heavy defeat. The crowd will be big.
