Hoping for another 2 months if we find suitable accommodation. Our current place has limited WiFi (unlimited would be best!) Have used the 20g up that was here already and now using my UK roaming 20g, would like another 30 to see us through the next couple of weeks if possible.
Thinking getting a lobster sim from corajello might be my best bet?

Sorry I cant help. I do usually keep some reserve Vodafone Unlimited sim cards for Friends&Family&Aquaintances - but they're all out being used now.

I am not sure about the lobster place, so hopefully, someone else on here can help with that.

I posted this on another thread, but I think this is perhaps the correct one:

Just to continue the debate about using UK SIM cards in Fuerteventura.

I use Smarty  (a basic version of  Three) .   They have a number of packages but the best one to use,  in my opinion, is the £10 package for 30GB of data, with unlimited texts and calls back to the UK.   It is a one month rolling contract

BE WARNED  Smarty cap the roaming data in Europe to 20GB  of data irrespective of the package you are using.   This means  their 'unlimited data '   for £20   is still capped at 20GB.

Hence buy the £10 package for 30GB and get 20GB of roaming data.    Buy the £20 "unlimited" package and still get the same 20GB of roaming data.    No brainer, really.

You can buy more data for  £1 per GB and  unused data does not  expire.   No problem with a signal - it normally connects to Movistar.

I got my daughter to order them (she had to put a £10 deposit on each ) and post them.    They work well in phones and a WiFi dongle.

The only disadvantage I see with Smarty is they don't have a call centre  Customer Support - it is all done via webchat,  but I have found they solve the problem quite quickly when contacted, and you get a written record of your chat.

I have also tried Voxi,  but again you are data capped, to   25GB  , and also time capped at 3 months use in Europe.    The card needs to be used in a UK mast at least every 90 days.

Hope this might give another option to anyone struggling with data cards.

Over the last few years we've been relying on mobile data for our home WiFi for our visits to Fuerte, so I have a bit of experience on this.

What I have found while roaming in Fuerte is that neither Virgin nor Voxi actually seems to cap the mobile data despite saying that they have caps in place. I've recently been using a Voxi unlimited data plan for £30, and so far I've used about 50 GB without any restrictions. You may wonder how I've managed to use 50 GB, but I am tethering using a 4G router for our home mesh WiFi so got a fair few devices connected.

Disclaimer: This is my experience based on my plan/usage - your experience may of course vary!

Has anyone any idea on a Pay as you go mobile that does not have a time li as  to how often you top up, the issue is this, my wife has a contracted mobile which gives us unlimited worldwide calls, which I use when necessary, I also have a mobile but rarely use it probably 10€ would last me 6 months+ I only use it to call a taxi if i am on my own or ring my wife  { when she is shopping and I haven't a clue where she is } I was with Orange but kept having to top up otherwise they were going to disconnect my number at that time I was circa 30€ in credit but had not used it for 2/3months, so I switched to Lebara, and I appear to have the same issue.

I think you will find they all have a time limit on PAYG tariffs, how else would they ever make any Money out of us.

Tom.

John. I also have an Orange PAYG sim, as a Spanish backup.
They tell me every 6 months that I need to topup, or they block outgoing calls. They don't disconnect it, from my experience.
'Feeding it' 5€ every 6 months is no hardship, I find, even if the credit doesn't get fully exhausted.

I also have a UK Tesco PAYG pre-brexit sim that has been in my burglar alarm here for over 4yrs! Still works. Must have slipped under their radar, for some reason.
