Man stabbed during late-night fight in a bar in Corralejo

A 23-year-old man was hospitalised after being stabbed during a fight in the early hours of yesterday morning (Saturday) in Corralejo, Fuerteventura.
The incident took place at a bar inside the Atlántico Shopping Centre, where an altercation reportedly broke out between several people.
The emergency services were alerted just after midnight, with witnesses reporting that one man had suffered injuries in the confrontation.
Local Police and Guardia Civil officers dispatched to the bar, along with a medicalised ambulance. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before taking him to the island’s main hospital, where he was admitted for further treatment.
The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been officially confirmed, though reports suggest he sustained at least one serious wound but the authorities have confirmed that he is in a stable condition and his injuries are not life-threatening.
The suspected attacker, whose identity has not been released, was arrested at around 7:30a.m. by officers from La Oliva Local Police and the Guardia Civil. He is currently in custody while the investigation continues.
Police have not yet revealed the motive behind the incident, and forensic teams are working to gather evidence from the scene.
