I think it depends when you shop Alex, we are accustomed to shopping between 11:00and 12:30, but of late for one reason and another we have been shopping between 16:30 and 17:30, and the Mercadonna here in Costa Antigua is very badly stocked with F/Veg particularly, you have to bear in mind that unlike the UK things like Cucumber and tomatoes, etc, are not displayed in chilled cabinets, so I believe they aim to sell out by the end of the day, and restock with fresh for the following day.

Mercadona in Corralejo has nowhere near the volume of fruit and veg it used to. Very often they have run out of everything I've gone for. They also seem to have slightly less varieties than before. I put it down to supply issues due to
COVID and that they cut volume due to lack of tourists. I'm hoping things improve soon as it's an hour's drive to get there and back, wasted time and fuel. Time of day and different days doesn't seem to help matters, in my experience.

I wonder if the reopening of hotels, restaurants, and other tourist establishments is also having an effect? I know they don't purchase from Mercadona at customer level, but there is a limit to what can be physically imported to the islands right now. If shipment frequency hasn't increased much in frequency from the lockdown days, but there are additional demands on available space from alternative purchasers (wholesalers, hotel chains), it might mean less choice available in the shops for a bit until shipments increase again?

You are probably right Ducks there does seem to be less traffic in the port and a noticeable reduction in customers in Mercadonna, so a reduction in stockholding makes sense, while if you do not have the product you cannot sell it you cannot see=ll the product if you do not have the customers, a lost sale of something you do not have anyway costs you nothing but not selling something you have obviously costs you the original cost of the product, and this particularly applies to fruit and veg and other short shelf life product.

I'm told that Mercadona is the place to buy your turkey crown but I've been warned that they are only in stock for a few days.
So, an appeal please. If you are in the store, and see them in stock, please post on here or pm me, so I can hightail it from El Cotillo to buy one big enough for 6 people.
TIA,
Tom.

Will do Tom, I'm after one as well.
In past years I've reserved one but I've not seen any notices or heard announcements to this effect yet this year.
