Monthly water bills
#11
Tom

I share your sentiments about the two utility companies.

CAAF still seem to be in the dark ages. I have had to make a few visits to their office (if you can call it that) in Corralejo and where you can obtain a copy of the bill and also the projection for the next direct debit payment -it seems the payment is taken two months after the reading !
But beware although the hours are 9-12 there is quite often a note on the door as on a break for a few minutes

I'm with CAAF and I've never seen a bill but money is taken every two months from my account. I've looked at the CAAF website, but can't see any customer log-in area.

It would be great to be able to view my bills especially as I hear they are about to increase significantly!!!

Conversely, the app from Endesa (electricity) is fantastic. I can view consumption by the day, by the hour any combination of views and all up to the day before.

Tom.

I'm with CAAF as well and have never seen a bill. My two monthly payment got taken from my bank account today and it is double the normal average amount and my water usage has not varied significantly! Had no communication from CAAF re a price increase.

We used to have bills from CAAF a few years ago, but they just stopped with no bye your leave or any communication.
We tried to find out at the "office" in Corry with no success.
Our bill seems to be estimated at 2 months then read the following 2 months.
Any one any the wiser about how to obtain a written bill or find a secret website.
My Vecino just shrugs and says what else can you expect from Mafia!

Hi DP,
We have same supplier, have always had a bill in the post on every period. Never looked at it closely as it’s usually only 6 to 8€ as we are not out too often. Does rise a bit after a visit so assumed it was pretty ok. As far as I am aware they are Internet dinosaur’s, no possibility of an online bill or meter reading update ☹️☹️

You need to go in to the main office in Puerto del Rosario and ask them to start sending out the bill. I minute job if you have a previous bill or printed out Direct Debit detail to take with you. 5 - 15 minute job if they have to try to find you in their system just using an address - their address records pre-date a lot of developments and still have plot numbers rather than streets and house numbers!

If you have a SMART meter it might be worth taking a pic of any references on that.

Neither did I until the lady on the desk asked if I was Smart - I presumed she was talking about a meter and not me personally! Perhaps they are being installed on new builds?

I would say ours is one of the newer builds on the island 3 years old and we certainly don't have a smart water meter the man comes round every couple of months or so and reads the meter.

I have a friend who works somewhere in the hierarchy of Dwr Cymru { Welsh Water } and after asking him, it appears you can certainly get one in the UK, first piloted by Anglian Water in 2016/17
