The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Tourism Department directed by Marlene Figueroa, in collaboration with the different island municipalities awards the installation of 10 showers adapted for people with reduced mobility (PMR) and prepared to recover and reuse water. According to information from the institution, they are being installed on some of the main beaches on the island within the framework of the 'Strong by Nature' Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination (PSTD), with a budget of €37,091.18 financed with European funds. Next Generation of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan for the Modernization and Competitiveness of the Tourism Sector.
The showers would be equipped with an intelligent water control and reduction system and are prepared to recover and reuse water, per the Circular Economy specifications and criteria of the Insular Corporation. The Cabildo details three will be located on Morro Jable beach, four distributed between Gran Tarajal and Las Playitas, and three more in Playa Blanca.
