Radio Sintonia:
We dive into the sea of the Canary Islands with Nigel Collingwood.
The photographer, diving instructor and marine ecologist, as well as a staunch defender of the environment, Nigel Peter Collingwood, will inaugurate at the Casa de la Cultura in Puerto del Rosario this Thursday, September 1, at 12.30 pm, a photographic exhibition about his underwater experiences lived with his camera.
The author of these images about marine life will take us on a tour of the rich natural heritage of the waters of the Canary Islands, Tarifa and Gibraltar, and a reminder about the importance of preserving the marine environment and its biodiversity, avoiding, for this, human pollution through a change of energy model.
Both the mayor of Puerto del Rosario, Juan Jiménez, and the Councilor for Culture, Juan Manuel Verdugo, wish to congratulate and thank Collingwood for his great work and his work in this exhibition, "where the author exposes to the population the great value that our natural aquatic heritage possesses, reviewing, through his images taken, the importance of the sea and its influence on the daily activity of the human being". Therefore, they encourage all citizens not to miss detail about this exhibition of great significance.
Nigel Peter Collingwood, born in Brazil and of British parents, lives in Fuerteventura since 1962, where his love for diving has led him to start a great task of environmental awareness with the marine ecosystem.
The exhibition can be visited until October 28, in the usual hours of the House of Culture: from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in the morning, and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the afternoon.
