Puerto del Rosario incorporates for the first time a lifeguard service in Los Molinos
The Mayor of Puerto Rico, Juan Jiménez, and the Councillor for Beaches, Sonia Álamo, visited on Monday morning, June 15, the beach of Los Molinos and that of Puerto Lajas, which have today a new lifeguard and rescue service. Thus covering the entire summer season that ends on September 30, 2020. The town of Los Molinos is the first time that it incorporates this service on its beaches.
The Consistory complies with this with all the requirements contained in 741 Decree 116/2018, of July 30 , which regulates measures for the application of norms and instructions for human security and for the coordination of ordinary emergencies and of civil protection in beaches and other maritime bathing areas of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands of mandatory compliance, also for unguarded beaches.
The lifeguard service has begun to be provided from this Monday, June 15, on the beaches of Puerto Lajas, with the incorporation of two lifeguards, and Los Molinos, with three lifeguards, both from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day from the week .
Likewise, it will act, by rotating shifts, on the beach of Jarugo, where the surveillance and security of the visiting population in said area will also be guaranteed.
The beaches of the capital's municipality have an increasingly prestigious service for its wide coverage in human and technical resources and its provision almost all year round.
For the Mayor of the capital, Juan Jiménez , “ the start of this new service is crucial to ensure the safety of the bathers and tourists who visit us, since it will allow us to provide a better service with more lifeguards, expanding it to new areas that were not previously they were covered and now they will be safe and guarded . ”
For its part, Sonia Álamo, Councilor for Beaches in the City Council, pointed out in this regard that " this is a novel contract, unprecedented in coverage of material and human resources, which includes coverage of the entire summer season for the first time on Los Molinos beach and for another time on Puerto Lajas beach, guaranteeing the full safety of people who visit places like these. ”

TLDR: Beach in Los Molinos, in Puerto Lajas and Jarugo beach (near Los Molinos) will have Lifeguards on duty every day until the end of September 2020. Hope they'll be back next year too.
