Rent house for a year
#1
Hi all,

In januari I'm moving to Fuerteventura with my wife. But... We are still looking for a house to rent for the coming year.

We are trying to find things online (idealista, etc) but the prices are insane, or only for short term (vacation houses).

In 2 weeks we will go there for a week to try all kinds of real estate agents, but their online presence is next to nothing.

Does anyone know a reliable estate agent we can contact, or even better; know oa house we could rent?

Welcome to the forum!

I think your best bet is to visit and talk to as many people as possible while you are visiting, not just estate agents but anyone you meet. You may get lucky or you may not! High rental prices are the reality here now - there is a real shortage of affordable housing for the local people.

Good luck!

Hi, you may want to have a look at the thread below:

In addition, the link below may be of some help but they mainly speak Spanish and Italian. You can always use Google for translating though:

Good luck

Try contacting these people: - T. 0034 928 868839; M. 0034 680 901153; martin@bliss-properties.com, speak to Martin, he often has inside knowledge of the market, he sorted property for us when there was allegedly nothing available, but it was 7/8 years ago and it is a different Island today, good luck.

I second John's recommendation.  Martin somehow knows about properties before they come to the market.  Like John, he found us two properties to view when everyone else said they had nothing that met our requirements.  We decided to purchase one of them and despite many issues, Martin kept his finger on the pulse and got us to completion.
