I have just heard from a neighbour that they have a friend sat on a Jet 2 plane on the tarmac with 90 empty seats and they are waiting to try and fill them so why are there other waiting / stranded passengers  not being transferred on to this plane by order of the government.

John, I have told you before about this you are applying logic and the referring to the EU that is never going to work

Just had an email from BA that they have cancelled our holiday flights to Helsinki for December!

What's that about?

Somebody from BA realising the reality of the current situation.

The earlier they cancel them, the less they have to pay in compensation.

They're probably looking at restructuring their entire offering over the medium term. They'll cancel as much as possible, then allow people to re-book later to get an impression of what demand is like in the wake of the crisis.

You have to laugh (or you might cry).

Had an email this afternoon from Ryanair reminding me about the cabin baggage I'm allowed on board for my flight on Friday 27th.

Ryanair cancelled that flight last Tuesday!!!!

Tom.

Have they not offered you an alternative?

We were booked on a BA flight to the Seychelles in January '20 booked March ,19, in July '19 they cancelled the outbound flight but booked us on to a Qatar flight via Doha, all worked out fine,

They said they will call. Definitely says 'your flight booking for Dec is cancelled'. But if I go to BA.com it is still available AND the hotel. Here's the rub...it's MORE expensive!

I hope airlines don't try to rip people off when the demand returns.

(1) apologising for the delay and offering refund or change flight
(2) confirming the flight was delayed as per above  if we would like to claim of OUR Insurance

EU261 is the form for claiming and on filling this in correctly (several times) the message comes back Mrs Ted wasn't a passenger on the flight! I must have spent 6-8 hrs on hold and this is from 6am most days.
Furthermore  I had a flight booked to Man for 21st march and they sent emails about bags/check in  etc using the Liv ref no. no wonder folk are getting angrier by the minute.

Update. Ryanair have just sent an email to say the delay was out of their control so therefore no compensation is payable.  Cry
