Was in Mercadona this morning and to my immense surprise, they have 10-packs of single-use surgical masks for €6. Cheaper than the ones available at the pharmacy, but much less durable. Might be a useful option for people!

Which Mercadona was that Ducks? I looked last week in the Correlajo shop but searched for them with no luck. Can you tell me whereabouts they are displaying them to save me a search?

Sorry, should have specified: Caleta/Mattoral. Personal care aisle, where you'd usually find plasters and bandages.
In our store, it's at the end of the left-hand side of the center island in the personal care aisle as you approach from the main entrance of the shop. Across from the vitamins and shower gels, where you usually find plasters and bandages. If you hit toothpaste or chewing gum, you've gone too far in one of the two wrong directions! Not sure every store has them and I am sure they will sell out pretty quickly, but I know Lidl had them last week. Unlike Lidl, Mercadona are likely to restock, so it's worth trying more than once, or asking a staff member, maybe?

Thanks for the details Ducks. I imagine Mercadona being such a large organisation will have specified areas for products to be displayed over all their stores so its is likely I will bear down at the areas you mentioned first of all.

drove south on Monday to have lunch with an Austrian friend who I have not seen since prior to Christmas, who lives just the other side of Morro Hable, really pleasant drive down virtually no traffic, as we were a tad early we dropped in to La lajita for a coffee, a mistake nothing except the supermarket and Farmacia open, a bigger surprise was Morra Hable itslf which is still on total Lockdown, again the Farmacia was open as was the
HiperDino, but nothing else, and veryu very few people around.

Don't know if this will be useful to anyone, but—
HiperDino in Caleta has masks by the till, the same 10-pack for €6 that Mercadona has been selling.
They also have fresh milk again. No lactose-free, unfortunately, but the regular and semi-skimmed are available.
