Fran Y Chemi are doing home delivery or pick up.

They are doing  a 20€ pakage - 10kg worth of fruit and 10kg worth of veg.

We'll give it a go later this week - it'll be interesting to see what we get and maybe a chance to try something different!

Ante la creciente demanda de ciudadanos que piden servicio a domicilio, en Fran Y Chemi, hemos preparado lotes compuestos por 10 kilos de frutas y OTROS 10 de verduras, TODO, por sólo 20€ .
Se podrán recoger en las instalaciones del polígono de costa antigua, y en supermercado Rita en El Barrio de Fabelo, Puerto del Rosario. También se podrá pedir a domicilio a través del correo mailto:franychemi@franychemi.com o bien por Whatsapp al 619 944 711. Los pedidos se servirán en un máximo de 48H .

COVID 19 has a lot to answer for - I'm now officially old! I got pulled from the back of the outside queue (15 people?) at Mercadona in Corralejo and escorted directly inside, not just to the front of the queue. When I was in the fruit and veg section the girl stocking shelves there let me make my selections and then directed me over to the fruit & veg packaging area - she took all prepacked fruit out of my trolley and marked it down considerably. I'm not sure whether that was an age thing or the fact that I always speak to her or she was due to mark the items down anyway, but I got strawberries, blueberries and grapes at less than 50% - nice one Mercadona 
They were also nearly out of chocolate - that is worrying, it's one of my essential food groups! 

All joking apart I was very impressed with how the shops/staff were handling things and the attitude of the public, it was all very calm and friendly everywhere I went today in Corralejo: Mercadona, HiperDino in El Campanario, BP petrol station. Well done to all the staff who are facing hundreds of people everyday.

Just been to Mercadona at Costa Antigua Commercial estate and experience much as described by others, only one lady 2mts in front of me in queue to get in.  Plenty on shelves so no panic buying here, a number of fresh items on offer as close to best before date.

Thanks for the photo, there were a number of departments I didn't check as I was trying to get in and out as fast as possible! So pleased they are on top of things here as given recent revelations about travel, we're going to be stuck here for the foreseeable future...

We've ordered the 20€ pack of fruit & veg from Fran Y Chemi plus a tray of eggs.

It's like waiting for Santa to bring us a present!
