Hi Ducks, ha ha, I meant getting into the shop in the first place. With the limiting numbers I don’t think there will be much of a queue at the checkouts 😁😁

CALETA: MERCADONA
Well, I managed to make it up there unmolested and unquestioned this morning! Stock of almost everything is good: tons of meat, veg, paper products, household cleaning supplies. The only thing I noticed they were low on (and they were very low) was chocolate and other sweets. (Probably punted those down the priority list for deliveries so they could get in more supplies of cleaning stuff and/or non-perishables?) They are limiting numbers inside the store and operating a one-in/one-out policy. You queue with your trolley at the entrance furthest from the drive-in on the main road, with 2m spaces clearly marked along the side of the building. On going inside, a friendly security guard directs you to sanitise your hands, take a paper towel and do the trolley, and then put on some gloves. All very civilised, efficient, and friendly. Inside, the shop was busier than the last time I visited, but not manic. Everyone bar one person (myself included) were wearing masks of some sort. Staff all masked and gloved. Absolutely no queue to check out, and I think quite a few were open.
edited to add: they are pulling anyone they think might qualify as a "senior" out of the queue to get into the shop, so I guess we know how they're managing the priory system now!
CALETA: LIDL
Lidl is pretty similar to the above, but there are only two trolley spaces marked out in the queue outside. Good supply of all items, and seemingly no limits on quantity (and none needed). Moderate queues at the checkout.
So far, so good, folks! If things can keep running as they are, we will come through this crisis pretty well. Thanked the nice girl at the checkout for her work as I was leaving, and she seemed very surprised and pleased to get it. Nobody is being unpleasant to anyone that I saw, but these are very stressful times, so if you have the opportunity to spread a little kindness, it does help.
What time was this Ducks? I went past the Bus Station at around 11:00 and the Police were stopping everyone going in both directions, when I returned around 12:15 they had gone { probably to lunch }

Caleta Brit Shops
Does anyone know if these are open? Not supermarkets, I know, but still food shops. Anyone? TIA
Edit: I'm not asking because I'm being casual about the lockdown. I've been vegetarian nearly 40 years, and don't intend to change that. My nearest supermarket is the Antigua Dino. Not at all veggie friendly. The Brit shops in Caleta have a reasonable selection of non-meat products, like Quorn etc etc (better than the selection in the Atlantico Spar) so I shop there regularly. I'm sure I can feed myself on the cheese, eggs and pulses I can get in the Antigua Dino for a while, but not for the duration of the lockdown.

10ish. Probably doing random checks at different times. Were people being turned back, or just stopped and questioned?

I was seventh or eighth in the queue and I saw no one turned back.
