Shops & supermarkets under lockdown!
I know that masks are not “recommended” by the U.K. government but I can’t see why not (except to keep supplies for the NHS) & that means it’s actually nothing to do with the effectiveness of these items.
Wearing a mask of whatever make is going to do more than wearing no mask !!
I get the bit about cross contamination etc, as in more inclined to touch you’re face or thinking you are more protected so don’t need to worry (same with gloves) but at the end of the day if you wear a mask, it is another avenue for contamination that is protected by whatever percentage (as in more than 0) !!
I actually think a lot of these proclamations are more to do with protecting (justifiably in some cases) the viability of the NHS than actually protecting the general public. Just my thoughts !!

I was topped on the way to Mercadona this morning, on the bus station r/about they stopped a car in front of me so I pulled behind it and stopped, some moron behind me just drove through despite shouts and arm waving, so one of them jumped in their car and chased him they stopped him just after the Costa Antigua R/about, and by the gestures and shouting that was going on the Giardia were not happy

100% agree with your final paragraph Ron, the slogan states the Govt agenda, stay at home, protect the NHS. They only acted when it looked as though it would collapse.

Greed supersedes both safety and sanity. My apologies for believing that even the Spanish government could not lower themselves to this level of utter, utter stupidity. Bring on the second wave.

I`m strictly keeping to the lockdown, so not been out of my house except for shopping just to my supermarket 700 metres away. So are masks actually available in the shops. Keen to get something for when I actually get a flight back to UK. Whether masks work or not & I know airlines use hepa filters but doubt if seating will be arranged for us to be 2 metres away from other passengers. So even with Hepa filters on air changes if you are sitting next to someone who sneezes or coughs without a mask your risk must shoot up. So has any sourced masks recently in Correlajo? Or are airlines issuing masks before you board?

I have not seen any in Mercadona or either of the two pharmacies I have been to in the last week.

Thanks John wondering if any one had seen any in the Chinese shops. As I would have thought they would have got something before the lockdown & hopefully either still have stock when lockdown lifted, or have ordered some which may be in by the time the lockdown lifted.

Just seen this article

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...-days.html

Millions of Spaniards are to be given special face masks in the next few days before they travel on public transport, the government announced today.
In another step to prevent its resurgence, masks will be distributed at train and metro stations, as well as at bus terminals, by an army of volunteers.

I wonder if this will just happen on the peninsula or will happen in the Canaries as well. Would think airports would be a good place to hand masks out as well .
