Being announced on BBC news that it has been extended today by Spanish authorities

Guaranteed that the local Police will misinterpret the law being introduced defining what vehicles may be on the road. The Onda Fuerteventura list does not include private cars. Is it the intention to force the use of taxis for supermarket shopping?

State Of Emergency Extended

This morning, I tried to drive from El Cotillo to Mercadona in Corralejo.  I was stopped by the police in Lajares and told that I could only go to my nearest supermarket (Cotillo).  Has anybody else had a similar scenario?
 
Another question.  We own two properties in different villages and one of them is empty.  Can we go there to check everything is ok and to feed the cats that are living in the garden?

Here’s an update - At 10:00 this morning, armed with various bits of paperwork I drove from Cotillo to Lajares.  It was eerily quiet on the roads and in Lajares.  I know it’s Sunday but I only saw 6 other cars and there were no Police checking drivers.

The Guardia are at the roundabout outside the bus station in Caleta checking all the cars this morning

I can't see from here - maybe someone nearer the roundabout with a better view can update us?

Do they care about the people walking from Caleta to Mercadona/Lidl?

Don't know about today, but my husband has done that walk a couple of times in last week without any problems, in fact a Guardia pulled up and gave him a wave!

We have told you are supposed to use your nearest Supermarket so for us that is the Spar in the Atlantico

I went into Corralejo today from Tindaya. Had quite a few things to do, all legitimate!

Saw one Policia Local car driving on the road on the way there.

Went past the Guardia barracks in Corralejo near El Campanario - 2 Army vehicles, 1 Policia Local car, all occupants standing in big group talking to load of Guardia with no social distancing going on! No one took the slightest bit of notice of the cars squeezing past their parked vehicles.

Drove down the Main Street - no people, loads of taxis in ranks, 2 Army vehicles but no checking going on.

Came back on the big road past Centro de Salud - Army and Guardia parked up on waste ground behind C de S - all chatting, no checking.

Went up to BP filling station and then Mercadona and then home. No further sign of any officials anywhere.

Did notice that Fenimoy ferreteria in Villaverde was open this morning, and Marcial ferreteria in Corralejo. Bakery on corner of El Campanario open, as was Pharmacy and HiperDino as expected.
