Pharmacies in the Canary Islands will be able to issue the COVID-19 certificate for Canary Health Service residents.

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, in collaboration with the Official Chambers of Pharmacists of the provinces of Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, authorizes pharmacies to issue the COVID-19 vaccination certificate. It is a measure that is activated from today and that seeks to facilitate access to this document for people residing in the Canary Islands, as well as to decongest the health centers that had been studying the certificates of patients and users who could not access the micertificadocovid.com app or the web enabled by the Canary Islands Health Service for this purpose.

People interested in obtaining this document in pharmacies, which will have no cost, must present their ID and, in case of requesting the COVID-19 certificate from a third party, it will be necessary to show the identification document of the person requesting it to register who makes the request.
For now, pharmacies will only issue the certificates of residents, a fact that they will verify through the Canarian Health Card. Residents of other autonomous communities who want to access the certificate will have to do so through digital services or by going to health centers. The Ministry of Health thanks the official colleges of Pharmacists of both provinces for their willingness to collaborate requested at all times.
Mobile App
Likewise, it is recalled that the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) has the mobile application and the www.miCertificadocovid.com website so that anyone already vaccinated, with one or two doses or with the booster dose, accesses, saves or prints their COVID certificate.
The implementation of this document in the Islands was ratified by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC), under the modality of mandatory use, for all sectors that are subject to capacity or schedule restrictions on the islands that are at alert levels 3 and 4.
Mandatory COVID certificate
This measure, which entered into force on December 25 and will be valid for one month, will be subject to monitoring and evaluation, without prejudice to the possibility of a new extension depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation.
The mandatory certificate for establishments and activities subject to time and capacity limits on the islands at levels 3 and 4 does not allow them to benefit from applying lower level measures as was happening when the use of the COVID certificate was maintained as voluntary.
The objective is to establish exceptional measures to control the health situation of people who access certain establishments, facilities or activities considered at risk for the transmission of COVID-19, to stop its spread.
The establishments, facilities or activities of the islands that are at health alert levels 3 and 4 that are affected by the application of the mandatory COVID certificate are:
-Hotel and restaurant establishments open to the public, whose resolution granting an opening license has a capacity of more than 30 people. The canteens (not cafeterias) of regulated educational centers are exempt from this measure, with respect to students and teachers.
-Establishments and nightlife activities, whose resolution granting an opening license has a capacity of more than 30 people, as well as in those others in which, regardless of their capacity, the consumption of food is allowed.
-Establishments and spaces dedicated to recreational and random activities, whose resolution granting an opening license has a capacity of more than 30 people, as well as in those others in which, regardless of their capacity, the consumption of food is allowed.
-Events and celebrations with concentration of people and music festivals attended by more than 500 people, as well as in those others in which, regardless of their capacity, the consumption of food or drink is allowed.
-Sporting Events attended by more than 500 people, as well as those others in which, regardless of their capacity, the consumption of food or drink is allowed.
-Public shows attended by more than 500 people, as well as in those others in which, regardless of their capacity, the consumption of food or drink is allowed.
-Cultural activities in cinemas, theaters, auditoriums and the like, whose resolution granting an opening license has a capacity of more than 50 people, as well as in those others in which, regardless of their capacity, the consumption of food or drink is allowed.
-Gyms and similar equipment.
-Establishments and health centers for visits to admitted patients, as well as to accompany users to consultation, diagnostic tests, cures or treatment, except in the cases of minors, disabled, dependents or people whose health circumstances or any other type require them, at the discretion of the health personnel of the center or establishment.
-Residential or day social health establishments, for visitors and people outside the institution.
The remaining establishments, facilities or activities, such as shops, hairdressers and transport, among others, in which users remain using the mask, on the islands that are at health alert levels 3 and 4, may apply the certificate voluntarily.
 Voluntary use
The COVID certificate is for voluntary use to access certain establishments and activities on the islands that are in levels 1 and 2, a measure that was also ratified by the TSJC and that allows the establishments that use it, to benefit from the capacity and schedules of the level lower than those found on the island in question.

Doses of the vaccine will be administered to both the adult population and the child population with or without an appointment

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands informs that in order to facilitate immunization against the Coronavirus in the Canary Islands, mass vaccination points remain active for all age groups, both for the first and second doses, as well as for the booster dose.

It is recalled that people who completed their vaccine regimen with Pfizer or Moderna will have to wait at least five months to receive the booster dose, while those who completed their regimen with AstraZeneca or Janssen will be able to receive the booster dose after having waited at least three months.

For a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 after receiving the full vaccine regimen, the waiting time between diagnosis and administration of the booster dose should be between four weeks and five months.

More than 4.4 million doses administered

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports that the vaccination teams of the Canary Islands Health Service have administered until yesterday 4,405,819 doses of vaccines against COVID-19. In the Archipelago there are already 1,847,351 people who have received at least one dose, which represents 88.07 percent of the target population in which children between 5 and 11 years old have been included.

In addition, until yesterday it had been possible to immunize 1,793,528 people who have already received the complete vaccination schedule, which represents 85.50 percent of the target population of the Archipelago.

On the other hand, 53.80 percent of children aged 5 to 11 years have already received the first dose of the vaccine and 39.20 percent of this pediatric population group is already immunized with the second dose.

Vaccination points

The Ministry of Health maintains 15 spaces enabled and two vacuguaguas for mass vaccination without prior appointment in all age groups of first and second doses, as well as for those of reinforcement.

In addition, you can make an appointment through 012 and the additional phones 928 301 012 and 922 470 012. You can also make an appointment to get vaccinated through the miCitaPrevia mobile app of the SCS or through the same application on the web.

In the Health Area of Lanzarote the vacunción is carried out in the health centers on the days and times as they are scheduled to the patients through the request for a meditative appointment on 012.
