The Governing Council has approved putting out to contract the drafting of the project, work and equipment of a resource so necessary to increase social and health places
The Governing Council of the Canary Islands has approved, today, October 28, the tender for the drafting of the project, work and equipment of the Gran Tarajal Social and Health Residence, "an essential resource to increase the social and health places that Fuerteventura has by 90 and we are getting closer and closer to it being a reality", says the island president, Lola García. After its approval, it will soon be put out to tender, the specifications of which can be consulted in the contractor's profile of the Cabildo's electronic headquarters.
The island president recalls that "last Friday the multi-year expenditure was approved in plenary session and today we are already giving the green light to a tender that will make it possible to make a long-awaited socio-health resource a reality". "This has been thanks to the streamlined work of the departments of Social Action and Contracting of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, as well as the City Council of Tuineje with which we have coordinated to unblock the land".
In addition, the agreement for the financing of this resource was recently signed, which has a budget of 15,387,888 euros, co-financed by the Cabildo that will contribute 4,455,710.24 euros, as well as the Government of the Canary Islands and the funds of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (RRM) of the European Union, with 11,130,846 euros.
For his part, the Minister of Social Action, Víctor Alonso, explains that "within the island's planning in terms of social and health infrastructures, the priority objective is the creation of new residential and care places. With this work, a first-rate socio-sanitary infrastructure will be achieved in Gran Tarajal, equipped with the appropriate services for the most vulnerable population".
Alonso details that the future residence will be built on a plot of 4,701 square meters in the Aceitún Valley. This resource will house two centres that will offer personalised care: The Social and Health Residence with capacity for 60 places, which will provide residential care 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, as well as a Day Care Centre for elderly people in a situation of dependency with 30 places.
The intervention model will be person-centered and focused. Individualized attention will be offered, but family and/or group actions will be contemplated. The residence will have a stay, maintenance and permanent care service, medical-health care service, service to promote personal autonomy with advice, guidance and occupational therapy, psychological care service and family respite program and leisure and free time, among many others.
