Employment endures the rate in Fuerteventura.

There are currently 7,376 unemployed people on the island.

The island of Fuerteventura maintains the rate in relation to job creation and while unemployment grows in the Canary Islands on the island it falls by 0.6% compared to the previous month. There are 47 people on the unemployment rolls entering the labour market. The decrease in relation to the year-on-year rate reaches 17.3% less.

 

The biggest problems of the island arise when it comes to incorporating young university graduates or graduates in Vocational Training with increases of .7% in the latter case and 2.7% in relation to university students.

 

Canary Islands grows in unemployed

 

Unemployment rose again last month in the Canary Islands. On this occasion, it increased by 2,726 people, representing an increase of 1.46 percent compared to January. In this way, the unemployment lists in the archipelago include 189,166 people, according to data published on March 2 by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.

 

This means that the Canary Islands are in second place in the ranking of communities in which unemployment increased the most in February. The first place is occupied by the community of Madrid.

 
On the other hand, in the national set unemployment rose by 2,618 people in February compared to the previous month (+ 0.09%) after the end of the sales campaign and driven by the growth of unemployment among young people, women and foreigners.

Fuerteventura starts on the 24th with 6,508 people unemployed.

The island continues to generate employment with a variation of -12.3% fewer unemployed compared to the previous year


Fuerteventura continues to create jobs, at least in the year-on-year accounts, as the seasonality of trade meant that from December to January 54 jobs were lost on the island, a variation of -1% in the last month.



Specifically, January ended with 6,508 job seekers on the island, compared to 6,444 the previous month. In relation to the year-on-year numbers, in January 23 there were 7,423 unemployed on the SEPE lists, so there are 915 fewer people in a year.

Looking at the figures by municipalities we see that in Puerto del Rosario there are 2. 811 unemployed, 10.6% less than the previous year, but 2.1% more than in December, due to the fall in commercial activity in the capital.



La Oliva generates employment in both statistics, and with 1,432 unemployed people, unemployment falls by 9.4% year-on-year and 0.9% monthly.



In Pájara there are 741 unemployed people, 17.9% less than the previous year, but it rises slightly in December by 1.8%



In Tuineje there are 939 unemployed people registered on the SEPE lists, 13.8% less than the previous year and 1.1% less than the previous month.



In Antigua there are 526 unemployed people, 18.6% less in the hospitalized comparison and 1.7% more than in December.



In Betancuria there are 46 unemployed people, the same as in January last year, but 21% more than in December.
