The City Council of Antigua contracts the urban art of Sabotage to the Assembly to beautify Caleta de Fuste

Urban art arrives on the walls and ramps of Caleta de Fuste, embellishing locations with striking, symbolic underground murals that transform a sober corner into an obligatory stop for passers-by to enjoy the paintings, says the mayor of Antigua, Matías Peña García.



With this initiative we wanted to give light and color to several locations in Caleta de Fuste, says the Councilor for Tourism, Kristina Rodewig, and we do it in alliance with alternative or underground artists, such as in this case, Matías promoter of the project that has traveled the world, Sabotaje al Montaje.



The proposal consists of three paintings on walls located in Caleta de Fuste, representing in each one The Views of the Atlantic, with the elements of Air, Land and Sea being the protagonist.



The first mural is finished these days and is located on the wall of the pedestrian ramp that leads to Avenida del Castillo, representing the sea with a wreck of striking and vivid colors, explains the councilor, an image, Rodewig adds, based on the image obtained by the freediving photographer Cristina Camacho Puerta.



On the same avenue, on another ramp, the mural will feature Tierra and the third street art mural will close the theme, Las Miradas del Atlántico, next to the Happy Center.

Fantastic painting, shame the council don’t fix the pavement in front of it. Some poor unfortunate will be admiring it and will trip or stumble into the hole and seriously injure themselves.

The mayor, Matías Peña and the Councilor for Tourism, Kristina Rodewig, promoter of this underground project, have visited with the artist, Matías de Sabotaje al Montaje, the three murals made with spray, on the walls of the pedestrian ramps of one of the main roads of Caleta de Fuste.

From the moment we got in touch with the urban art artist, Matías de Sabotaje al Montaje, says the Councilor for Tourism, Kristina Rodewig, he understood the idea that we wanted to reflect in the project Views of the Atlantic highlighting the three main environments of our island and also reflects the need to take responsibility for it, reflecting three species in danger of extinction, as they are in Aire, the guirre, in Land, the mullet and in the sea, the smallest fish.

The result is spectacular, it embellishes the walls of these ramps, and it does not cease to be photographed by the numerous passers-by who walk the streets of Caleta de Fuste every day, says the mayor, Matías Peña, who congratulated his namesake for the talent he always demonstrates, now for the first time in this Municipality of Antigua, where we will undoubtedly once again count on his urban art for new projects.


The artist, Matías, thanked the councillor Kristina and the Tourism technician, Javier, for the trust given from the first moment, allowing me an unforgettable artistic experience with this intelligent urban art project Las Miradas del Atlántico, made in ten days with spray, and in which I have had the inspiration of the photographers Cristina Camacho and Juan José Ramos.
