What's the weather like? - December 2018
All the years I came here on holiday I was in the sea everyday, whatever the time of year. Now I just look at it and feel the cold! Huh

Tindaya and Corralejo - Sunday

The gales Saturday and into Sunday were horrendous - all sorts of weird noises outside and loads of stuff blown over despite being weighted as it was a different direction to normal. A neighbour lost a large panel from her shed (2m x 1m) and we haven't been able to find it!

Sunday continued very, very windy in Tindaya and Corralejo and only eased a bit in Tindaya mid afternoon. It's back blowing hard again now. Lots of sun but this was gradually eclipsed by high level cloud whilst the calima sat at a lower level.

I'm like Tamara... only go in the sea if there's an extended heatwave and I can't cool. Water temp of 85deg min!!

I would just like to thank all those Weather contributors. Great job! Thanks...

And thanks to Sam for setting up the forum and managing it. A great source of useful information.

Have a good one.

Late good morning from Caleta as I have been up early and down to see the MV Queen Elizabeth in Puerto, they berthed her on the cargo /eastern dock not the usual cruise ship dock we presume because of the wind being from the SE.

Passing Caleta at 6.15am then in PDR

A nice day yesterday but did get windy and very hazy at 3pm

This morning in PDR and Caleta cloudy and windy car thermometer was reading 18C but it felt much cooler.

Forecast for rest of the day cloudy all day but no rain temperature to reach  a high of 21C at 5pm!! with a UV factor high of 4 at mid-day, wind from SSE all afternoon at 17mph moving SE at 5pm increasing to 18mph before easing down to 9mph at 9pm

WMG - love the early morning pic of the ship with the red sky - thank you.
Sam - great pics, love the seagulls!

Tindaya and Corralejo - Monday

Incredibly strong SE winds with a thick calima were again the main features of the day. Pretty chilly most of the time. Damage to shrubs and fences/garden walls in Tindaya. The wind has subsided at the moment - let's hope its finished and were not just in the eye of a storm!

[Image: dfy4DYg.jpg] 9am SE

[Image: y6j5aDZ.jpg] 9am W

[Image: NrpQy6C.jpg] 10:30am Corralejo, looking over the parque towards the RUI hotels.

[Image: wwwVjON.jpg] 11am - Lobos just visible but Lanzarote has disappeared without trace!

[Image: v7rtRGL.jpg] 3pm - no improvement in Tindaya

[Image: fOlZvfE.jpg] 6pm - suddenly there was light as the sun set!

[Image: 2zXheM5.jpg] 6.15pm - best bit of the day.
