Clouded over in Caleta, but no rain yet, however I left Antigua about 20 mins ago, and it had just started raining there.

Good morning from Caleta, yes it did cloud over during the afternoon and during the evening there was a heavy shower of rain.

This morning at 7.45am 14C, some large grey clouds to the west and east and the wind has dropped to a light breeze.

A cloudy day with up to a 7% chance of a shower of rain this afternoon, (50% chance in PDR) shade temperature to get up to 20C from midday for 4 hours with a UV factor of only 1 today, humidity to average 64%, cloud ceiling only 600 to 800mts, air quality fair and visibility very good at 16Km+

An early good morning from Caleta, off to Lanzarote for the day to meet up with Friends from Cumbria who are on a Canaries Cruise.

Yesterday much as forecast mainly cloudy with a few showers of rain, we had a very heavy shower of rain at 4am that woke us up, at 6.30am it is 16C cloudy with a moderate wind.

Today's Caleta forecast -

Another mostly cloudy day with a &5 chance of rain this afternoon, shade temperature to get up to 20C from 1pm for 4 hours, UV factor only 1 today, humidity to average only 52%, cloud ceiling varying from 1500mts to 9100mts, air quality fair and visibility very good at 16Km+

Good morning from Caleta, with being away for the day yesterday sorry can't give a comparison to forecast.  This morning at 7am only 12C clear overhead with a bank of cloud to the east over the sea and a light breeze.

Today's Caleta forecast -

A mostly sunny start, cloud building from 10am to then give a cloudy afternoon, no rain forecast but AEMet forecast 10% chance this afternoon in PDR, shade temperature only going to get up 20C at 3pm with the UV factor reaching 4 from 11am through until 2pm when the sun is out, humidity to average 59%, cloud ceiling 10200mts to start dropping to 9100mts from 9am until 4pm then dropping to to 200mts by 6pm, air quality fair and visibility very good at 16Km+

Wind from the NW this morning at 15 to 22KMph with gusts up to 32Kmph moving to come from the NE this afternoon at 20 to 24Kmph with gusts up to 33Kmph.

Yesterday. Possibly the coldest day in the 9 years we have been here, it never got above 18c all day even when the sun made an appearance late morning, it made a couple of attempts to rain neither of which came to anything, however, I made my weekly visit to Antigua around 09:00 and it was at least 4 degrees colder there than in Caleta and when I left at 10:00 it was raining reasonably heavily
 
Today. 08:45 Temperature currently 15c wind N/Easterly 18/20Kph Cloud cover 60/70%.
 
Forecast More sun than cloud, the temperature to reach 20c, and the wind to remain as is.

Thanks John, yes I was laid up with a bad back and could hardly move, agree it was cold yesterday 2 tops on over my golf shirt.  Have to say the Accu Weather forecasts for the last few days have not been at all accurate.

The calima reaches us from Thursday.

East wind, which will bring dust in suspension and rising temperatures
From this Thursday the intrusion of moderate winds of east component will bring to the islands dust in suspension that in principle does not seem to be very dense, although we must wait for the successive parts of the AEMET.

 

The intrusion of Saharan dust will also bring a rise in the minimum temperatures that had plummeted in recent days, displacing the mass of cold air in height that had been placed north of Fuerteventura.

 
As for the state of the sea, it will remain relatively calm with waves that will not exceed one and a half meters north and west of the island. Caution is advised in the bathroom in those areas.

Thanks Tamara for the wishes, I agree about the Calima, yesterday afternoon I checked the Skiron dust forecast site and it clearly shows the Calima arriving from Wednesday.
