At lunchtime I drove to La Oliva. As I approached the town I had to put my headlights on and slow to a crawl - there was so much dust in the air the visibility was down to a couple of metres. It was foul with yellow/brown dust and grit blown up by the unusual southerly wind/gales. It sat down in the La Oliva basin, Tindaya was very windy and a bit dusty but nothing like as bad.

Yesterday morning I got surprised by a strong shower at the Grandes Playas. Just when I walked from my car to the beach, it began to rain quite heavily.
In the afternoon I went to the beach again but this time I watched the clouds over the mountains. After an hour I could see that another cloudburst happens over the mountain range Volcanes de Bayuyo. I rushed to the car and got inside just in time. Three minutes later it looked like this:
