Every beach in Fuerteventura is special, but I reckon we all have a favourite beach - you know, the one you always go back to at least once on every holiday. My favourite is Sotavento, a stunning location with soft sand, a gentle slope into the sea, and usually fairly calm water. You can wander barefoot for miles along the water's edge (naked if you like).
However, my wife prefers to lie on a comfy sunbed, and there aren't any at Sotavento, so we often go a bit further south to Mal Nombre instead. There are sunbeds for rent at Mal Nombre, and the beach bar does amazing sizzling garlic prawns!
So what's your favourite beach?

Sotavento is great but if is not ''too windy''
We love El Cotillo beaches for it's stunning colours, Playa Escaleras (Steps Beach) and Playa de Cofete as they are not very touristy,
remote beaches with lots of golden sand.

Don’t really do beaches much. We both like Pozo Negro but more for lunch & a walk. I like the look of Sotavente but haven’t got there yet. Never seems to be enough time to get around, ha ha. Always have too many visitors to entertain ??

The hidden beach off of Tindaya or 100 steps beach just along the coast are my favourites

Which is why you're still here!

Used to go to Steps beach (Cotillo) but the steps had a danger notice placed on them. Does anyone know if they ever got repaired ? I quite like Cotillo turn left and drive up the track a bit. Nice watching the surf schools arrive, instruct the clients in P.T. , how to get on the board, into the water for a surf lesson without any surfable waves then back into the minibus.

Hi was there on Friday and if you are talking about the stone steps 3 or 4 kms south of El Cotillo then no they have not been repaired but people are ignoring the signs and going down them.
Look at the surfers beach video I posted as a test elsewhere -

My favourite is Tindaya (prejudiced here!) but not for swimming as it's too dangerous. Another local was swept out and died just a couple of weeks ago.
(I thought Corralejo Grandes Playas (the Dunes beach) would have been on the list for voting!)

My favourite is the surfer's beach at El Cotillo.
An early morning walk preferably before the surfers have arrived is a great way to start my day
El Cotillo, my spiritual home
