That poor woman. I hope she recovers well, I would be very unhappy to have to go into hospital right now with the COVID figures the way they are.

This isn't a huge surprise to me, however. A couple of years ago, we got a taxi out to the industrial estate up there and were having trouble getting hold of a taxi to bring us back, so we decided to walk back to the shopping centre to get the bus as it's not very far in terms of distance.

Big mistake. On the short walk back, we were approached and bothered by several off-leash dogs, one of which was about 300ft from its owner, would not stop jumping on and barking at us, and would not return when called by the owner who was laughing hysterically and thought the whole thing was hilarious. Very unpleasant experience.

There are too many people on this island who do not take responsibility for their dogs, and both the animals and innocent passers by will suffer for it.
