Awareness and dissemination on World Environment, Oceans and Sea Turtle Day.
The Cabildo de Fuerteventura, through the Ministry of Environmental Sustainability, has scheduled a series of workshops on dissemination and environmental awareness on the occasion of the World Day of the Environment, Oceans and Sea Turtles, which are held on June 5, 8 and 16, respectively.
Protecting our environment
The main objective of these activities is to promote the protection of our natural environment and encourage sustainable actions that allow a positive coexistence with nature, where citizens can become aware of the importance of preserving the environment.
The activities will be carried out during the month of June, following the established program. They are aimed mainly at schoolchildren from different educational centers, with the purpose of educating future generations about the importance of caring for and conserving our natural environment.
Through these actions, we seek to awaken interest and sensitivity towards the conservation of our oceans, the protection of sea turtles and the adoption of sustainable practices in our community. Therefore, all citizens are invited to join this initiative and actively contribute to the protection and preservation of our environment.
The Cabildo appreciates the participation and support of all those involved in these activities, since only through collective commitment can we guarantee a sustainable future that respects nature.
Activity 'Coastline in sight'
On the other hand, the Ministry of Environmental Sustainability of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura will also develop the activity 'Litoral a la Vista' on the occasion of the celebration of World Environment Day and Oceans Day. This initiative is part of the environmental education program 'Know to Protect' and is aimed at adults over 18 years of age.
The objective of this activity is to promote knowledge about the value of the coastline and the impacts it suffers, in order to raise awareness among participants about the use we make of it and promote actions to prevent its deterioration.
The activity will take place on June 10, 2023, on the beach of Playa Blanca, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. approximately. It will be open to people over 18 years of age who register in advance, with a maximum limit of 30 participants.
The development of the activity will be divided into three fundamental parts: The coast; Microplastics workshop; Marine litter workshop.
The Ministry of Environmental Sustainability of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura invites all interested parties to participate in this enriching activity, which seeks to promote environmental responsibility and the care of our oceans and coastlines.
