3-year-old girl in serious condition after drowning incident at hotel pool in Fuerteventura

A three-year-old girl is in a serious condition after being pulled from a hotel swimming pool in Fuerteventura, according to reports from the emergency services.
The incident happened late on Tuesday morning at a resort on Pasaje de Las Playas, in the municipality of Pájara.
Emergency services were alerted at 11:24am, when lifeguards at the hotel rescued the child from the water, showing signs of drowning and began administering first aid.
Two ambulances were sent to the scene, one with advanced life support, as well as officers from the Local Police. Paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) continued efforts to stabilise the child before she was taken to Fuerteventura General Hospital for urgent treatment.
The girl remains hospitalised in a serious condition, and the Local Police are investigating the incident and have filed the relevant report.
