A translation:

Four people, residents of Fuerteventura and recent arrivals from Mexico, are the new cases that increase the number of patients with COVID-19 to 7 on the island of Fuerteventura.
These four people came from an area where the pandemic is in a different phase from that of the islands and at the moment personal contacts are being studied to assess whether any contagion may have occurred on the island.

The Cabildo calls on the population to act responsibly if they are traveling from a problem area. Voluntary quarantines are encouraged to try to restrict possible infections.

35 migrants are still infected by COVID-19 in the building in Puerto de Rosario harbour. All are asymptomatic and are in strict quarantine.

A further update on the new cases: 

Two parties and meetings organized by the same family have just caused the largest outbreak of Coronavirus registered in the Canary Islands since the state of alarm ended: ten infections spread between Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura that started with a case imported from Mexico.

According to Efe sources from the Ministry of Health have informed, the beginning of that focus is on a man living in Fuerteventura who returned to the island from Mexico already sick with COVID-19, the so-called "patient 0", diagnosed last week, and that he infected his sister, case 1 of this outbreak, detected last Monday.

In turn, this woman attended a family party with some 40 people a few days later in a villa in Fuerteventura and then moved to Gran Canaria, where she had another family gathering.

As a consequence, this Wednesday four cases were diagnosed in Fuerteventura and five more in Gran Canaria, after examining all the possible main and secondary contacts, including the work environments of all those investigated.

This is the second family outbreak that occurs in the Canary Islands, says the Ministry. The previous one took place in Tenerife, where a man who had returned from the United States infected two of his relatives (the Ministry of Health already considers an outbreak to be three infections in the same family or area of relationship).

Technically, the Canary Islands has two more outbreaks active, both in Fuerteventura, with 35 positives among the occupants of they correspond to two boats that arrived on the island from El Aaiún (Sahara) on June 14 and 18 and which continue to isolation in a ship in Puerto del Rosario, because the quarantine of the entire group has been extended as new diagnoses emerged.

However, epidemiologists from the Government of the Canary Islands do not consider them a worrying case, because all their protagonists are isolated from the moment they disembarked from the rescue boat that rescued them and have had no relationship with anyone outside their group of traveling companions.

As a result of what happened with the outbreak in Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, the Ministry of Health has once again called for responsibility and respect for basic prevention measures (mask and distance), also in family settings.

In this regard, remember that 40 percent of the outbreaks detected to date in Spain have originated from family gatherings or parties, in which precautions are relaxed and relatives who have been separated are prone to kiss and hug.

Until 5:00 a.m. last night (last time the data was updated), the Canary Islands had 81 active cases of Coronavirus, including 42 in Fuerteventura, 15 in Gran Canaria and 12 in Tenerife.

Fuerteventura has registered a new positive diagnosis of Coronavirus, after up to four new cases were diagnosed this Wednesday and the Ministry of Health announced that it is following the trail of around a hundred people, 41 in Fuerteventura and the rest in Gran Canaria, related to the ten infections in the COVID-19 during a family party held on the first of the islands.
This new positive raises with 43 the active cases in the COVID-19 on the Island, of which 35 correspond to immigrants who arrived in Patera in June and the rest to residents who are under house monitoring.
For his part, the president of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Blas Acosta, appeals to responsibility and calls for quarantine to be kept if he comes from any risk zone.
