Antigua approves the expansion of its cemetery and the creation of a funeral home and crematorium.
The City Council of Antigua has approved, unanimously in an extraordinary plenary session, the Modification of the Urban Planning to incorporate the detailed planning of urban land, in order to enable the expansion of the cemetery.
The approved regulation makes it possible to expand the municipal cemetery, as well as the creation of a funeral home and crematorium facility in order to meet the demand and needs required by the municipality of Antigua, as explained by Mayor Matías Peña.
The Councilor for Urban Planning, David Alberto Guerra, has pointed out that among the next improvements and related actions, is the expansion of the parking area, also improving the accesses to it and to the cemetery itself.
Finally, Matías Peña, congratulated during the plenary session "the coordination that has existed between the secretariat, the technical office of the City of Antigua and the entity Gesplan, which was entrusted in July 2022 with the joint preparation and preparation of the required documentation".
