Widening of the FV-2 and the Creation of Natural Pools?

There may physically be space for the actual lanes of a dual carriageway but no room for any approach roads/flyovers & associated clover leafs etc. Also don’t see the connection with Pozo Negro ?? The FV2 could swing north just after the Barranco de Antigua & head right behind Chipmunk, behind El Mattoral & link back into the dual carriageway north of the airport. From the looks on Google, not much in the way. Really think it is shortsighted to spend the level of money required mickey mousing with the road through Caleta. In my opinion it could make it worse than it already is !!

Obviously the way to go but we are in Spain

I agree with John then as well. If it is just two lanes each side squeezed into the available space it means retaining the roundabouts. That will save nothing, there will still be the same queues & delays & still cost a packet as well as the construction disruption.

The optimistic cynic in me would say this could be a win-win for both sides, the island and the drivers:

If Cabildo gets the Money from the mainland (Spain/EU) they will pay to a local company, employing local people, who would spend the Money on the island and pay the tax, etc. A simple win for the island.

Drivers will get a new, wider, road finished just before the big announcement of the new Caleta bypass (paid again by Spain/EU - more Money to the island), getting most of the traffic out of the town. Drivers will be smiling too, using the almost empty roads around Caleta.

...I'll get my coat.  Tongue
