Quote:The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government, together with other regions, has collaborated with the Ministry of Health in the launch of the mobile application ayudacovid19 that allows self-assessment and triage of the coronavirus COVID-19 and which is already available for systems Android and iOS operating systems.
With this tool, citizens will be able to do self-evaluations every 12 hours by answering a questionnaire of questions established according to the protocols. Based on the results, information will be provided to the citizen, which will also be stored in a centralized database that will serve to give a global vision of the situation at the national level. If the result of the questionnaire is positive, that is, if the patient presents clear symptoms, they are referred to the corresponding unit for the extraction of tests and follow-up, from where they will be called to do the COVID tests19.
In order to access this mobile application, a citizen identification system is used that includes sending an SMS as a one-time password. Once registered in the application, you will access the form that includes questions such as Do you have a fever? Do you have a persistent dry cough? Do you have muscle pain? Have you had close contact with any confirmed positive patient ?, among others.
Depending on the results obtained in each self-assessment, the citizen will be offered a series of recommendations on how to act in the event that the test has come out negative or positive.
The ayudacovid19 app will collect self-diagnosis information from citizens throughout the country and will send the data of its citizens to each Autonomous Community in order to keep track of the evolution of the pandemic in the different regions and to be able to make the decisions that best suit the reality of each geographic area.
