Dismantles a criminal organization that distributed narcotic substances using a transport logistics company.
Agents of the National Police have arrested nine men and a woman aged between 27 and 55 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of belonging to a criminal organisation and drug trafficking. They belonged to an organized structure based in the Canary archipelago, whose modus operandi was the distribution of large quantities of narcotic substances between the islands and the Iberian Peninsula, using a logistics transport company.
The investigation began last September and during it successive shipments of narcotic substances were intercepted.
These shipments were made in collusion with the main managers of a well-known logistics company based in Puerto de la Luz and Las Palmas.
4 searches in Gran Canaria and 10 arrests
At the end of the investigation process, Police officers carried out four entries and searches on the island of Gran Canaria, two in the homes of the main suspects and another two in the warehouses that the logistics company owns in Puerto de la Luz and Las Palmas.
Throughout the Police operation, 750 kilograms of hashish, 62 kilograms of cocaine, one kilogram of amphetamines have been seized and more than 36,000 euros in cash, five vehicles and various technological and telecommunications material related to the crime have been seized.
The Police operation ended with the arrest of nine men and one woman in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the complete dismantling of the criminal network established by them.
It should be noted that two of the detainees had already been arrested previously in 2018 in an anti-drug operation by the National Police for similar acts, pending the holding of the trial next May.
The detainees have been handed over to the competent judicial authority as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of belonging to a criminal organization and drug trafficking.
