Tuineje requests economic collaboration with the Cabildo and the Government of the Canary Islands for the Arena Negra Festival 2019
The request for the Cabildo of Fuerteventura amounts to 300,000 euros, while the Canary Islands Government is 60,000, double what was committed last year and never came, despite the fact that the Director General of Tourism Promotion had confirmed the collaboration of your Counselling
With sufficient foresight, the City of Tuineje has begun official efforts to request assistance to the Cabildo de Fuerteventura and the Government of the Canary Islands for the development of the Arena Roja Cultural Music Festival of Gran Tarajal 2019. At the beginning of this month, a total of three collaboration requests.
The forecasts of this second edition are to offer a headliner that exceeds the expectations of last year, which is why the City of Tuineje, on the one hand, has consigned a game of 50,000 euros in the budgets of 2019 for this purpose ; while, on the other hand, it has undertaken the corresponding negotiations with the Cabildo and the Government, "since the City Council, on its own, does not have the economic capacity to deal with this event", explains the Mayor of Tuineje, Sergio Lloret.
In the case of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, the Municipality of Tuineje has formulated a request for economic cooperation amounting to 300,000 euros; This amount coincides with the same amount with which the Cabildo de Fuerteventura sponsored the first edition of the Festival.
With respect to the Government of the Canary Islands, two petitions have been submitted, one addressed to the Presidency and the other to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, in order that the Canarian Executive contributes the amount of 60,000 euros. "This year we have asked the Government twice what was requested for the first edition of the Festival in order to recover what they promised to give us and never gave us," says Lloret. "Last year, when the poster of the Festival was presented at a press conference at the Cabildo, the Director General of Tourism Promotion, Candelaria Umpiérrez, said that the Canary Islands Government would provide 30,000 euros that we never saw." In fact, days before the celebration of the Festival, the City of Tuineje had to make an urgent credit modification to cover that economic item that never arrived. "This year we hope that, being the next General Director of this municipality, assume the commitment to provide those 60,000 euros and not leave us in the lurch again, like last year."
The Black Sand Festival, whose second edition will be held coinciding with the All Saints Bridge on
October 31 and
November 1,2 and 3 at Gran Tarajal Beach, managed to place on the volcanic sand of this coastal enclave more of 22,000 people during the two days of its first edition. International artists such as Orishas or nationals of the stature of Estopa , David Otero or Marta Soto passed through its stage, placing both Gran Tarajal and the municipality of Tuineje at the epicentre of culture for a whole weekend.
In addition to bringing great national and international artists, another of the objectives of the City of Tuineje is to overcome the attendance of the public last year, so that promotional actions have been happening throughout the year, the first of them in Fitur 2019, once the dates of the Festival were announced.
