Radio Sintonia:
Repairs to the section between Guisguey and La Caldereta could be completed by the end of the year.
The president of the Island Council of Fuerteventura and head of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Sergio Lloret, visited today, Wednesday, October 5, the section of the FV-1 between Guisgue and the roundabout of La Caldereta, which will be subject to rehabilitation through the Roads service of the Insular Institution, through a public tender for the improvement of the firm, between kilometers 5.22 and 8.58.
As the island councilor was able to verify, the section object of the tender, currently presents significant surface damage and some localized structural damage, posing a high risk to the safety of the road, traveled daily by a large number of users, being one of the main arteries of the Island.
The works planned for the recovery of this section of the road, with a tender budget of just over 600 thousand euros and that, according to Lloret "it is our desire to have them awarded and even executed before the end of the year, will involve the rehabilitation of more than three kilometers of route.
The Cabildo will finance 100% of the work and the bidding procedure will be announced through the portal of the Contractor Profile of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura and the State Contracting Platform through a simplified open procedure of urgent processing, with the aim of offering an improvement in road safety in the section. Companies will have until October 17, 2022 to submit proposals.
The rehabilitation of the section of the FV-1 is part of the urgent action plan for the improvement of the Insular Road Network, which contemplates the arrangement of a score of sections of roads dependent on the Island Institution throughout this year and that respond to the "commitment of the Island Corporation to maintain the Island Road Network in conditions of comfort and safety", President Lloret stressed.
