First low-cost petrol station opens in Fuerteventura!
#1
Petroprix, Spain’s leading independent operator of automated petrol stations, has opened its first station in Fuerteventura, increasing its growing presence across the Canary Islands.

With this latest site, Petroprix now operates 13 stations in the archipelago, with stations already established in Tenerife and Gran Canaria. This is the company’s first move into Fuerteventura, where the fuel market has traditionally been dominated by larger companies and where independent stations have so far been scarce.

The new station is located in a strategic spot close to Fuerteventura Airport, at Calle Janana 46, within the Costa de Antigua Industrial Estate.

Lower Prices with Advanced Technology

Petroprix aims to position itself as a competitive alternative to the major fuel brands by offering prices 10 to 15 cents per litre cheaper, which could save drivers up to €10 per full tank.

The station features automated pumps dispensing 95-octane petrol and diesel, both enhanced with HQ300 and HQ400 multifunctional additives. These additives are designed to improve engine performance, keep injectors clean, and reduce foaming and splashing during refuelling.

Expansion Plans Continue Despite Challenges

This opening is part of Petroprix’s broader growth plan to reach 300 stations worldwide and €1.4 billion in revenue within three years. However, the company admits that expansion within the Canary Islands may be challenging due to limited available land for new low-cost service stations.

With its combination of lower prices, automation, and advanced fuel additives, Petroprix hopes to offer a more affordable and efficient refuelling option to both residents and tourists in Fuerteventura.
