Flying to and from Fuerteventura post COVID-19 crisis
#51
Latest check for my flight on sunday: the B738 seats 181, still possible to book for 25 persons.

As in the Netherlands new testing/carantaine rules are proposed, I highly doubt a full flight. Bad for tourism, but hopefully a safer trip for us.

My flight was 33% occupied. People were very precise in wearing masks. Boarding was even in stages, which made keeping distance a bit easier.
Helaas, when in Fuerteventura unboarding was as normal: chaos. Luckily, most people did behave.

I'm flying back to Fuerteventura next Sunday with Ryanair. It'll be interesting to see how many will be on the flight. I presume there won't be many on it even though they had a lot of bookings for it.

There were only about 50 on my flight back to Fuerteventura on Ryanair from Stansted yesterday morning.

I had to fill in the Passenger Locator Card before the flight, with the link for it being sent by Ryanair.

The Security procedure at Stansted has been changed since I last flew from there. Passengers are directed to numbered security points where staff deal with the trays etc.

Everyone was wearing a mask in the airport, except when eating and drinking.

The Boarding Gate procedure was exactly the same, as was boarding the plane.

On the flight you have to remain seated and press the call button to ask if it's free to go to the toilet.

As there weren't many people on the flight it was very civilised.

On landing you leave the plane and show your passport to the Police as normal. After that a member of staff checked to see if the Passenger Locator Form had been completed. If yes, you had to show the form on your phone to another member of staff and she recorded it. If it hadn't been completed, you would have to complete it before being allowed through.

I have subsequently received an email to say that if I suffer any symptoms of the virus I should call the contact number given.

It was all very straightforward.

We (family of four) traveled last sunday with Transavia from Fuerteventura to Amsterdam Schiphol. Flight was for 90% full. Although there was a zone number on the boarding passses, they did not use it so everyone boarded in the same chaos way as always. Alas, I did have some very nasty people next to me: not wearing a mask for 90% of the time (4,5 hours) because 'they were eating and drinking (yes: too much wine). And as bonus frequently coughing. Not happy about that.
Exit at Amsterdam also chaos. And nobody did ask for our health form. Also, although Canaries are rated orange, no testing facilities or even a reminder at the airport.

from Bristol at weekend:.
temp checks prior to entering airport building.(one person stopped!)
Only about 30 people on flight
flight very civilised, hot drinks available.
Toilet access as required.
One very negative item at FV we were all crammed onto one shuttle bus for a 20 yard trip.
Efficient temp check and submission of QR codes or paper forms .
Jump onto no 3 bus, no luggage, It was packed but everybody wearing masks and being very polite

How do they record it off your phone? I'm still not clear on how that works.

Haven't seen/use one but I expect every form filled online will have an unique identification number or/and a QR/bar code so the people in charge can take a note of the number or scan the code.

Yes, very efficient. You fill in the questions on-line and get a QR code. You can scan the code from paper or mobile. Only needed on entering Spain.
Negative 1: still 'self assessment', so reliability is questionable.
Negative 2: rather a lot of detail questions (location in spain etc). You can't fill in it in for a groupe/family but have to enter everything by person.

Thanks very much for the explanation. Good information to have in advance!
