GES helicopter rescue of an injured hiker in Fuerteventura
The man was in an area that was difficult to access while walking along the El Bayuyo trail, in La Oliva.

A man had to be rescued by the GES helicopter while hiking on the El Bayuyo trail, in the municipality of La Oliva, SOS La Oliva personnel alerted the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands indicating that they had found a person in the area of the badlands and that he required health assistance.
The 112 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
Since the affected person was in an area that was difficult to access for health resources, the GES helicopter was activated, which took charge of his rescue.
At the initial moment of assistance, the injured person had a trauma to the lower limb so he was transferred to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura also by helicopter.
Firefighters, together with personnel from the SOC La Oliva and agents of the Local Police of La Oliva collaborated with the GES personnel in the assistance and rescue of the affected person.
